Qatar Airways to fly charter flights to Muscat to take Omani Students home

Qatar Airways is operating special charter flights to Muscat to take Omani students home from their studies abroad.

With an increasing number of airlines ceasing operations due to entry restrictions and airport closures around the world, Qatar Airways is providing a vital lifeline to these Omani nationals,

it said, adding that it will bring back home Omani students travelling from Australia, New Zealand, and the United States.

HE Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said,

“We know there are many people who want to be with their families and loved ones during this difficult time, and our priority as an airline is to help get them home. We are thankful to the Omani authorities and the management and staff at Muscat International Airport for their support in making these charter flights to Muscat possible.”

“We continue to operate around 130 daily flights to more than 60 cities worldwide. Each day new entry restrictions are put in place that prevent us from operating our regular scheduled flights. However, we continue to work closely with governments around the world, and wherever possible we will reinstate or operate charter flights,” he said.

Qatar Airways has already helped to repatriate Pakistani, Filipino, Indian, Swiss, American, British, Canadian and French citizens as charters were organized by their respective governments so that their citizens can return home to their families at this difficult time.

The airline is also offering maximum flexibility to passengers in terms of managing their travel plans.

Passengers that have booked are planning to book tickets for travel up to 30 September 2020 can alter their travel date free of charge, or exchange their ticket for a future travel voucher valid for one year, up to three days prior to departure.

This includes award flights.
