Omani inventor boasts 167 inventions

Omani Ali Al Kharousi is one of the creators, improvers and doers — out-of-the-box thinkers whose efforts often better our daily lives – he is an inventor boasting a massive 167 inventions in the span of 11 years.

Al Kharousi is an example of an ambitious and dedicated young man in his work. He sees innovation as an outlet that he took as a path of creativity and development and is the basis of knowledge.

My first invention dates back in 2009 when I developed the camera to remotely control it.

I also created a device to detect salts in the water and a device to control the operation of the conditioner through text messages and a lot of innovations that were aimed at overcoming a challenge or solving a problem.

And because Al Kharousi’s ambition has no limit, he had a special experience to speak of:

“You need passion to be an inventor and my passion is Eko Energy– a company specialised in electronic and solar manufacturing, where we provide solar energy equipment, install and provide engineering consultancy, and our products are many, including locally manufactured products, such as mobile generators for trips, camping, and emergency situations, as well as a device to protect the horse fence and prevent horses from going astray, and the date drying device, and many other devices and equipment,” he says.

Al Kharousi participated in many competitions and exhibitions in the Sultanate, and achieved advanced ranks. As for the external participation, he took part in an innovator conference for the Gulf states held in the Bahraini capital in 2017, when released a number of environmentally friendly equipment.

Al Kharousi says there are small initiatives from government agencies to support innovation and investment of ideas, but these agencies give up the innovator after reaching the last stage of investment and experience. “This is the reality that we live in,” he says, expressing the hope that the government look closely at the topic of innovation and support innovators and invest in them and not just in their ideas.
