“This is what Sawadi beach looked like after an influx of visitors last night. Barka Municipality asks visitors to collect garbage and dispose them in the proper manner to sustain the area’s beauty. Please remember: Oman deserves to be clean.
“The municipality continues to intensify cleaning campaigns aimed at general cleanliness, public restrooms, and garbage disposal during holidays for the 48th National Day,” the statement read.
Muscat Municipality added,
“We urge residents to limit negative behaviour such as tampering with equipment, disposing of garbage in wrong places, and disfiguring public picnic area. As you found it clean, please leave it clean.”
The Ministry also cited the law, which states that wrongful disposal of garbage carries a fine of OMR100, which increases with repeated offences.
