Cultural Club to Organise Forum on Maritime Routes, Shared Cultural Heritage

The Cultural Club will organise this Tuesday the general forum themed “Contribution of Maritime Routes in the Development of Shared Cultural Heritage”.

The forum is part of the fourth meeting of the UNESCO International Network, which will be hosted by the Sultanate from 28 to 31 October 2018.

The forum will be attended by 30 researchers from inside and outside the Sultanate.

The forum discusses the historical significance of the Silk Road and its bridge to the exchange and interaction of cultures and ideas among civilisations and nations for thousands of years, which contributed to shaping the world today.

The opening program of the forum will include a short film about the Maritime Silk Road, after which participants will begin to give their presentations and discuss the main features of the shared cultural heritage within the maritime routes that have developed along the global Silk Roads.
