Coronavirus: Oman’s Health Minister discusses increase in cases

His Excellency Ahmed Bin Mohammad Al Saidi, Minister of Health, has explained the reasons of increasing cases of COVID-19 recently in the Sultanate.

A statement issued online by Oman TV said:

“The Minister of Health said that we have noticed that there were gatherings to perform Tarawih prayers and iftar during the holy month of Ramadan.”

The minister also confirmed:

“We expect an increase in cases in the coming days.” He pointed out that: “2,400 total number of recovered cases in the Sultanate from COVID-19.”

Oman witnessed recently a spike in COVID-19 cases between 400 to 800 cases per day.
